As a telecommunication SOE committed in the development of human resource competencies, once again, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk (Telkom) organized IV Senate Session of Telkom Corporate University (Telkom CorpU) in Bandung (2/5).Senate Session IV wass the realization of Telkom CorpU consistency to ensure link and match between increased business performance and human resource development system conducted in Telkom.The event was attended by all Telkom directors including directors of Telkom subsidiary who were also served as Dean in each of the existing Academy in Telkom Corporate University.Also attended were Telkom Corporate University partner, Prof. Philip Parker of INSEAD, Prof.Dainty from Melbourne Business School, Regina Sneifer of Orange and Robin NGAN from NUS Singapore.
Telkom CEO, Arief Yahya, as the Principal of Telkom CorpU explained that this time the theme of the Senate Session IV was how Telkom built International Capability Center (ICC) and achieved competency through new leadership course called “International Suspim” where teachers and students should use English along with SingTel employees who were committed to sending employees to learn at Telkom CorpU. To implement International Suspim, Telkom partnered with INSEAD, Melbourne Business School, NUS Singapore, Thunderbird USA and Orange France.
Meanwhile, Telkom formed ICC which was aligned with Telkom main program which was International Expansion. It has been proven through the set-up of new businesses in the international arena in 2013, among others, the establishment of Telkomcel in East Timor, the launching of Kartu As 2in1 in Hong Kong, and Document Management Services in Australia.
Other important focuses in the Senate Session IV were the submission of Telkom human resource development plan (HCD Plan) from SGM Telkom CorpU, as the Vice Principal, Tonda Priyanto, to the Telkom CEO and the launching of Learning Card.Learning Card was a new innovation in the field of Learning created by Telkom CorpU to improve the alignment between the learning process and the improved business performance.
Thus, Invest in People, which was Telkom Group’s major strategic initiative in the form of Telkom CorpU has had a very strong connection with the achievement of business performance.This has been proven by the achievement of Telkom’s business performance in 2013 which was supported by the successful implementation of three main programs. Those main programs were the double-digit revenue growth to Rp.60 trillion, the achievement of 1 million subscribers of Usee TV, and the achievement of international expansion with a footprint in 7 countries namely: Singapore, Hong Kong, East Timor, Australia, Myanmar, Malaysia, and the USA.
